* On September 18 and 19, the Red Scarf Newspaper, in association with sponsors, held an early Mid-autumn Festival for 1,000 orphans, children of front-line forces in the pandemic fight, and child patients with cancer, HIV and other diseases in Ho Chi Minh City. The participants received various gifts, including moon-cakes, star-shaped lanterns, milk, and toys.
Besides, the organization panel gave soaps to 52 schools in Vinh Chau town of Soc Trang province, and necessities to several centers for orphans and Agent Orange/dioxin victims in the Southern region.
* On September 19, the Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department worked with the city’s Military Command to host a tour to Cu Chi Tunnels for COVID-19 front-line forces.
The same day, Saigontourist Group also held its first tour to Can Gio coastal tourist area for front-line troops and people involved in COVID-19 prevention and control in the city. The success of these tours will pave the way for the local tourism sector to reopen tourist attraction sites in COVID-19-free zones of the city, which are in districts with no COVID-19 cases in the community in the last 14 days.
* The Binh Duong provincial Department of Education and Training on September 19 handed over online learning tools, including tablets, desktop computers and scholarships, to over 100 impoverished children in the province.
On this occasion, the provincial Red Cross Society granted 1,500 notebooks and 150 gifts to help local children enjoy a meaningful Mid-autumn Festival.

* The Long An Business Association distributed 10,000 gifts totaling nearly VND 5 billion to the elderly and children living in rented lodgings. This meaningful activity was in response to the provincial People’s Committee’s call for better support for disadvantaged people, especially the elderly and children, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province.
* On September 19, Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defense received gifts donated by the Military Broadcasting Center and Military Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs, MR7 and sponsors inside and outside the military. After that, the hospital handed over these gifts to children with SARS-CoV-2 who are under treatment at the hospital and Field Hospital No.7.
* On September 19, MR7 inquired after and offered 2,500 presents, totaling VND 250 million, to children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the gifts were transferred to Ho Chi Minh City’s Military Command and the military commands of Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces. The activity expressed the care of MR7 towards the children during the Mid-autumn Festival amid the complicated developments of the pandemic.
* Gia Dinh Regiment of Ho Chi Minh City’s Military Command, in coordination with sponsors, delivered 500 gifts to poor people in Cu Chi district. On this occasion, the regiment also visited and supported COVID-19 front-line troops in the city with over 100 gifts.

* Ahead of this year’s Mid-autumn Festival, troops of Regiment 2 of Division 9 (Army Corps 4) visited and presented gifts to orphans amid the COVID-19 outbreak in Tan Kien commune, Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.
The division has so far donated more than 2,000 lanterns and more than 2,000 moon-cakes with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND to children in pandemic-hit areas such as Tan Phu district, Binh Chanh district.
On September 17, in the quarantined area of Infantry Regiment 210 (Division 305, MR5) in Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, an artistic program was held for children on the occasion of the Mid-autumn Festival.
Meanwhile, at the Defense and Security Education Center (Infantry Regiment 974, Khanh Hoa provincial Military Command), 18 under-15-year-old children received gifts such as star-shaped lanterns, moon-cakes, and heard the Mid-autumn Festival greeting letter from the State President.
In an exciting atmosphere, they were determined to strictly observe regulations in quarantine areas and hoped that the pandemic would be soon over so that they could go back to school.
