Two hundred Van Kieu ethnic students receiving gifts from the organizing panel

Accordingly, the program handed over 200 gifts, including school bags and lamps, pens, notebooks and gave 50 bicycles, with a total value of about VND 115 million, to disadvantaged students. These gifts contributed to creating motivation for them to continue to study hard and become good citizens in society.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Le Luan, Political Commissar of Huong Lap Border Post, more than 90% of the population of Huong Lap commune are Van Kieu ethnic minority people. The living standard of local people is still low, and many students cannot go to school. Over the past year, Huong Lap Border Post has regularly mobilized businesses and benefactors to stand by needy people by providing necessities, livelihoods, and civil projects for them to improve their quality of life. The unit has sponsored many students under the program “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts.”

These activities showed the close ties between the military and civilians and the responsibility of border troops towards needy people in border areas; and encouraged people to join hands with the force to safeguard national sovereignty and border security.
