The handover ceremony was part of activities in celebration of the 73rd founding anniversary of the military logistics sector (July 11, 1950 - 2023), and the 76th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2023).

Recipients were Tran Thi Vu, widow of martyr Tran Dinh Son who died in the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists in Village 10 of Hoa Hau commune; and Truong Van Huynh, a sick soldier exposed to toxic chemicals, living in Village 1 Chuong Luong of Bac Ly commune.
The construction of the two houses was started in early April 2023 at the cost of VND 80 million each, drawn from the GDL’s “Gratitude Fund.” The houses were completed after more than two months.
Addressing the ceremony, Senior Colonel Tran Van Dinh, Deputy Political Chief of the GDL, congratulated the two families on receiving the houses. He hoped that they will promote the family’s traditions, observe the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws, be good models in local movements for their relatives to follow.

Over the past years, in the spirit of “whole nation joins hands for the poor – Leave no one behind,” and bringing into play the good traditions of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, and logistics troops, chains-of-command of the GDL and its affiliates have teamed with relevant units and local party committees and authorities to realize policies, especially conduct gratitude activities for the poor, national contributors, receiving high praise from locals and widely spreading to units in and outside the military.
In this year, the GDL decided to give financial support to build 25 houses nationwide.
