Reportedly, this year, the Party Committee of Defense-Economic Unit 379 has focused on directing the unit to effectively implement missions at Muong Cha Defense-Economic Area, and joined hands with relevant forces to conduct projects assigned by the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Military Region 2.

Meanwhile, the Party Committee closely worked with local authorities and other forces stationed in Dien Bien province to raise local people’s awareness of seriously observing the Party’s guidelines and State’s laws, and gave recommendations to local authorities and Party organizations to strengthen political network at the grassroots level.

This year, the unit sent over 1,200 teams to different hamlets for dissemination work, repair and build 2km of inter-hamlet roads and 15km of inter-commune roads, and hand over gifts worth hundreds of millions of VND to local needy households.

In his speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Duyen, Political Commissar of the Military Region 2 Command, requested the Party Committee and chains-of-command of Defense-Economic Unit 379 to further pay due attention to maintaining combat readiness posture and joining hands to ensure local social order and security, creating favorable conditions for local people to combine socio-economic development with strengthening defense and security.

At the same time, the unit should closely team up with local authorities to effectively roll out socio-economic projects, conduct mass mobilization work, and strengthen local political system. They should also carry out and multiply economic models to help local residents in its stationed area achieve sustainable poverty reduction.
