Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To presents VND 10 billion to support people affected by storms and floods. |
Speaking at the ceremony, General To said that in recent days, storms and floods have caused serious human and material losses in many localities, particularly in northern provinces of Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Bac Ninh.
Responding to the widespread devastation, the Vietnam People’s Army promptly mobilized more than 485,000 officers and soldiers, including regular forces and local militias, along with over 10,000 vehicles and equipment, to participate in disaster response, search and rescue operations, and post-flood recovery.

He emphasized that during natural disasters, military units always serve as the vanguard force, undeterred by danger or hardship, dedicated to helping people evacuate, rescuing victims, rebuilding homes, and restoring essential infrastructure. At the same time, the military has donated hundreds of tons of food, clothing, blankets, and other necessities, reflecting the compassion, responsibility, and solidarity of soldiers toward the people.
Expressing sympathy for those affected by the disasters, the GDP’s deputy chief noted that although the contribution of VND 10 billion is modest, it represents the sincere care and heartfelt support of all officers and soldiers for fellow citizens in disaster-stricken areas. He stressed that this gesture embodies the spirit of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers,” who always share hardships with people and assist them in overcoming losses and rebuilding their lives.
On behalf of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations Nguyen Phi Long expressed his gratitude to the CMC and MND for their contribution to supporting communities hit by storms and floods.
He affirmed that all donations and relief funds would be strictly managed and used effectively to help affected localities recover quickly and stabilize livelihoods.
