Accordingly, 250 needy leprosy patients received gifts, including 10kgs of rice, one  box of instant noodles and household necessities, while 450 other patients received VND 200,000 in cash.

Also, the organizers handed over 186 scholarships to primary and secondary students, 57 gifts to university, college and vocational school students and 19 bicycles to students in border localities with good academic records in the 2018-2019 school year.

On the occasion, the two commands also presented toys, lanterns and gifts to local children on the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn festival.

According to Senior Colonel Lam Van Huy, Chief of Political Department of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Border Guard Command, the unit raised more than VND 400 million to conduct social activities in border localities of Binh Dinh, contributing to helping them improve their domestic economy as well as firmly defending national sovereignty and security in border areas.
