At the meeting, Lt. Gen. Tran Duy Giang, Director of the General Department of Logistics, reported that units in the entire military have actively boosted production, planted vegetables, and bred cattle and poultry and prepared enough food for troops before, during and after Tet.

Meanwhile, the General Department of Logistics has guided units to choose prestigious local enterprises to ensure food hygiene and safety and actively prepare goods for troops in Truong Sa island district, on DK1 platforms, at border posts, and on other islands.

Regarding discharged troops, the General Department of Logistics has directed units to ensure Tet gifts to them and handed over them to localities in a safe manner.

While speeding up preparation for receiving new recruits this year, military agencies and units have paid due attention to strictly observing COVID-19 prevention and control measures, closely following pandemic developments, and teaming with local medical and relevant forces to prevent the pandemic from spreading to units.

In his speech, General San hailed the General Department of Logistics and relevant agencies and units for their good preparation. He asked the general department, agencies and units to strictly observe duty regulations during Tet, ensure a cozy Tet for troops and better care for troops stationed in border areas, on islands, and at border checkpoints.

He also requested them to ensure military equipment and accommodation for new recruits and prepare plants for tree-planting ceremonies.

Also at the event, General San heard a briefing on the project “Improve efficiency and increase production and processing in the military in an appropriate, safe and sustainable manner in the 2021-2025 period and by 2030" delivered by the Department of Military Supplies.
