Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan made the request during his inspection visit to Brigade 144, an affiliate of the General Staff, to check its working plan for this year, combat readiness posture, and preparation for the upcoming lunar New Year.
According to a report delivered by Senior Colonel Hoang Ngoc Chien, Commanding Officer of Brigade 144, this year, the brigade will carry out its routine and unscheduled tasks, focus its leadership on accomplishing military, party and political work as well as logistic, technical and financial services.

Attentively, in the first quarter of this year, the brigade will concentrate on meetings with soldiers having completed their military service, receiving and training new recruits, ensuring combat readiness duties and organizing lunar New Year-welcoming activities for troops.
During the upcoming lunar New Year, Brigade 144’s troops will closely follow situational developments, enhance patrols, and effectively control COVID-19.
Concluding the inspection visit, General Tan emphasized that the unit should double check and deploy its regular duties, develop plans to well implement all of its working aspects, especially discharging soldiers completing military service and enlisting new ones.

Regarding the combat readiness and Tet assurance duties, the deputy chief of the General Staff asked the unit to work closely with local agencies and units to ensure security, order and safety in the stationed area and a cozy Tet for troops.
The unit was also requested to beautify its barracks and ensure policy work during Tet.
As the lunar New Year is drawing nearer, General Tan wished the troops a warm and happy Tet. He hoped that the troops will bring into play the heroic tradition of the unit to complete their assignments in the year.
