Units are to strictly observe combat readiness: Defense Minister
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang visited and worked with units under the Air Defense - Air Force Service and Army Corps 2 on July 24.
On inspecting the Command Post at the Airport of Regiment 927 of Division 371 and Command Post of Division 365 of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, the defense minister praised the units for their strict observance of combat readiness regulations; good management of the air and flight activities in designated areas; close coordination with relevant forces; regular grasping of situation in the air, at sea, and on land; and timely settlement of circumstances.

Talking about the freshly-ended live-fire exercise for the air force in the whole military, Gen. Giang said that in spite of taking place in unfavorable weather conditions, participating pilots, especially young and inexperienced ones, well performed their skills and completed all set targets. He added that the exercise’s outcomes proved the enhancement of training quality, competence, and combat readiness capability of troops.
The defense leader asked the service in general and inspected units in particular to strictly observe discipline and guard duty regulations, effectively manage the air and flight activities as regulated; organize combat readiness status shifting exercises and fire prevention and fighting drills; develop close-to-combat reality training programs and contents; well coordinate with other agencies and units to ensure adequate equipment and smooth communication for missions to enhance the quality of combat readiness training and air management.
While checking Army Corps 2, the Defense Minister emphasized the army corps’ positive changes in training, combat readiness, regularity building, discipline observance, Party and political, logistics, and technical work. He said that he was impressed by the corps’ outcomes in carrying out resolutions and plans on streamlining the Vietnam People’s Army in the 2021 - 2030 period and the years to come.

To complete the adjustment of organization and personnel, Gen. Giang requested Army Corps 2’s leaders to direct agencies and units to make thorough preparation for and organize the hand-over and merging of units as regulated.
