Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang speaks at the event.

The conference took place at the headquarters of the General Staff in Hanoi under the chair of Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, connecting 48 other places in the whole military nationwide.

According to reports at the event, in the reviewed period, the Central Military Commission, the MND, party committees and chains-of-command at all levels paid due attention to directing the implementation of the work, resulting in raised awareness of the work and heightened responsibility of agencies and units’ heads, contributing to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of management and direction at all levels. The work was carried out synchronously and effectively with high quality.

Positive changes were seen in e-documents, e-signature, and digitization of archived documents.

At the event, Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai informed that despite the rise in customs clearance documents in comparison with the same period last year, border units dealt with them on time, even before the due date. Renovation in customs procedures, especially the launch of e-customs procedures helped facilitate travels of ships and boats.

Meanwhile, the military sped up the building and development of e-government and digital transformation in flexible and creative manner. Many thematic seminars on digital data were held. Plans on transferring and receiving e-documents were implemented. Military data transmission network connection among agencies and units was expanded with several agencies meeting the set target for the year.

An overview of the conference

Given that higher requirement is set for the work in the second half, General Phan Van Giang requested the military to further disseminate the importance and significance of the work, check the plan on the work in 2023 to promptly carry out the remaining tasks of the year, supplement new assigned tasks and ensure the quality and efficiency of the work.

He also asked for the setting up of data on military servicemen, weapons and equipment as a foundation for building other data on finance, salary, policies, health insurance, barracks, and more to boost management in the digital era.

Simplifying administrative procedures, standardizing work process, and stepping up digitization of documents were what the defense chief urged agencies and units to do in the remaining time of the year.
