According to a report by the Military Science Department under the Ministry of National Defense (MND), in 2025, relevant agencies and units pro-actively and effectively implemented tasks related to the research, design, and manufacture of infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery, and light amphibious tanks. They developed, adjusted, and refined sets of criteria, configurations, and tactical-technical characteristics of products, and automated command and fire-control software systems. These efforts served as the basis for conducting research, design, manufacture, and testing in accordance with regulations.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified difficulties and obstacles in task implementation. They proposed recommendations and solutions to carry out tasks that meet the military’s requirements in the coming period.

In his concluding remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nam praised relevant agencies and units for their pro-active role in advising, proposing plans, and implementing research, design, and manufacturing activities for science and technology projects and topics.

He emphasized that the products of these science and technology projects are identified as weapons and technical equipment of strategic significance, designed without relying on available models, involving many new and challenging research contents. Therefore, he requested the agencies and units to pro-actively and closely coordinate in developing to meet the operational requirements of the artillery, missile, and armored forces in the new situation.

The defense leader also urged them to coordinate in testing, reviewing and approving products to ensure strict compliance with regulations and absolute safety. Agencies and units were instructed to continue proposing science and technology tasks on the research, design, and manufacture of armored vehicles and self-propelled artillery in line with equipment needs, and submit them to the Military Science Department for appraisal, consolidation, and report to the MND leadership for consideration and decision.
