Visiting the Defensive Area Command Region 5-Quang Yen under the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command, Senior Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai ordered the unit to maintain strict combat readiness and advise local authorities on strengthening defensive components. He urged close coordination with functional forces to monitor the situation and handle contingencies promptly. Additionally, he emphasized ensuring public security for a peaceful Tet while improving personnel welfare and maintaining absolute safety during the holiday.

Senior Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung commended units for their achievements in 2025, ordering strict combat readiness for Tet 2026. He emphasized organizing joyful, safe, and economical celebrations for personnel and locals.
Units must refine combat and fire prevention plans, conducting rehearsals to ensure absolute security. General Tung also stressed coordinating with local authorities to maintain social order and border sovereignty.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, he presented Tet gifts to units and local policy beneficiary families. Military Region 5 and Army Corps 34 leaders also gifted personnel on this occasion.
* Also on January 27, the General Staff held a conference to review the work of developing the Law on Management and Protection of Defense Works and Military Zones, and to conduct training on the law and its guiding documents.
Chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, the conference was organized online, connecting 123 sites across the entire military.
The Law on Management and Protection of Defense Works and Military Zones, passed by the 15th National Assembly on November 24, 2023, took effect on January 1, 2025. This law institutionalizes Party guidelines on homeland protection and national defense, ensuring consistency with the 2013 Constitution and international treaties.
At a recent conference, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang highlighted the law’s complexity, noting that drafting units meticulously incorporated feedback and legal reviews to ensure quality. He urged military units to disseminate the law effectively, apply its provisions to practical management, and coordinate closely with local authorities.
The conference also featured presentations on implementing decrees and circulars. Additionally, the Minister of National Defense awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for their contributions to the drafting process.
