At the ceremony

At the event, PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief handed over 1,000 facemasks, 20 liters of disinfectant liquid, three disinfectant sprayers and 90 boxes of consumer goods that were donated by the Masan Consumer Joint-stock Company. The mission also presented VND 30 million in cash to the forces working in the school’s quarantine areas. 

According to Major General Do Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the school, Army Officers Training School No.1 has provided concentrated quarantine zones for more than 1,600 people returning from COVID-19-hit areas. The unit mobilized dozens of troops from units in Ba Vi and Thach That districts to serve in those areas.

In addition, the school has closely cooperated with Military Hospital 103 of the Military Medical University and Hospital 105 of the General Department of Logistics to make preparations for the building of the first field hospital for infectious diseases of the Ministry of National Defense. Earlier, the three units were also praised by the defense Minister for their effective coordination and participation in the military wide COVID-19 response exercise.

The school has promoted information dissemination and education and encouraged its personnel and cadets to strictly follow COVID-19 procedures.

Speaking at the ceremony, PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief said that PAN would always want to share difficulties with the school and highlighted its impressive achievements in preventing and controlling the disease over the past time.

For his part, General Minh thanked the newspaper for the gifts and affirmed that PAN’s good deed will contribute to encouraging the school’s personnel to contain the disease and strengthening solidarity between the two units. 

On the occasion, PAN’s mission congratulated the school on the 75th anniversary of its foundation day.
