After hearing reports from the Department of Political Affairs of the GS and other agencies and units on the implementation of plans to organize the celebration activities, General Tan requested the GS’s affiliated units to develop and implement specific plans according to their assigned duties and to accelerate information dissemination. He asked agencies and units to launch emulation drives and organize a contest on the 80-year history of building, combat, and development of the GS.

The GS’s leader also emphasized the need to complete scripts for artistic programs at the ATK (Safe Zone) in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province; at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel; and in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Focus is also placed on preparing and successfully organizing a “Return to the Roots” journey to the ATK Dinh Hoa as planned; ensuring the timely completion of construction projects at the ATK Dinh Hoa; renovating and upgrading war martyrs’ cemeteries in Cao Bang and Lao Cai provinces; and building 80 gratitude houses and 80 great unity houses in various localities.

In parallel with developing combat readiness and security protection plans for the commemorative activities, units are instructed to finalize applications for fireworks display permits for the artistic exchange program at the ATK Dinh Hoa; complete the training plan for military bands, guard-of-honor units, and martial arts forces in preparation for the artistic performances in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and organize sports exchange and demonstration events at the ATK Dinh Hoa.

General Tan requested the coordination of agencies and units under the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) to disseminate information about the 80th anniversary of the GS’s founding and the GS’s military and defense activities. He suggested that the GDP’s relevant agencies and units support the GS in organizing the commemorative activities.
