The request was made during a month-end meeting of the General Staff on May 30.
The meeting evaluated that in May, the whole military strictly complied with combat readiness regulations. With accurate assessment of situations, they gave timely advice to address emerging issues effectively. The “Three Explosions” tests for recruits were organized as scheduled.

Notably, the project on streamlining local military structures in the new context was carried out closely. Forces and vehicles were mobilized to promptly respond to disaster and fire cases, as well as search and rescue operations.
Commending agencies and units for their attainments, Gen. Cuong asked them to continue observing combat readiness, closely monitor situational developments, give timely suggestions, and enhance guarding activities.
The Chief of the General Staff underlined key missions for June, including the prompt drafting of a resolution of the Central Military Commission and a plan by the Ministry of National Defense on implementing the aforementioned project; completion of the plan to realize the Politburo’s resolution on the organization of the Vietnam People’s Army in the 2021–2030 period and beyond. He also emphasized perfecting the personnel organization, functions, tasks, and coordination of newly established agencies and units. Additionally, he requested a review and supplementation of the functions, duties, and responsibilities of commune-level military commands.

Gen. Cuong called on relevant agencies to direct training for parade contingents in preparation for the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day, ensuring high quality, safety, and discipline.
Notably, it is necessary to review and ensure the progress and quality of legal documents on military and defense affairs, particularly draft laws, before submitting them to the National Assembly for opinions and approval.
