General Nguyen Tan Cuong speaks at the inspection.

Units participating in the exercise reported on and conducted several on-site demonstrations, including the exercise command post and logistics and technical support area; river-crossing operations using engineering equipment; and an air defense deployment scenario in which MR4’s forces coordinated with other units to establish an air defense umbrella protecting key targets.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the units for their pro-active efforts and thorough preparations for the exercise, highly appreciating the dedication of officers and soldiers. He also thanked Nghe An province for facilitating MR4 and Ministry of National Defense units in carrying out their assigned tasks.

The GS chief also identified tasks that needed to be completed, requiring MR4’s armed forces to urgently coordinate with the MND’s agencies and units to finalize all preparations, ensuring the official exercise would achieve the best possible results while maintaining absolute safety.

On the same day, General Nguyen Tan Cuong and the working delegation visited and encouraged officers, teachers, staff and students at Campus 2 of the Southern Junior Cadet School.
