Local fishermen receive national flags.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Political Commissar of the Naval Region 5 Command, and Vo Van Yen, Standing Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Grassroots Organs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Ho Chi Minh City, joined the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation inquired after troops of Radar Stations 610 and 595 on Tho Chau Island, Kien Giang province and Hon Khoai Island, Ca Mau province, respectively.

At the meetings, commanding officers of the radar stations briefed the delegation upon their military defense task performance, political security and social order and safety in the locality and assigned waters.

Apart from inquiring after their life, activities, and families, the delegation presented them with numerous practical gifts. These gifts were seen as a source of encouragement for them to overcome difficulties, concentrate on performing and completing their assignments, contributing to firmly safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands.

On the occasion, the delegation offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, fallen troops, and over 500 people killed by Khmer Rouge forces in 1975 at Tho Chau Temple. They also presented 300 national flags and distributed 500 leaflets to local fishermen on what to know when going to open sea.
