PANO - The Naval Medical Institute has long been known as the Navy’s leading hospital, specialising in specific diseases related to military activities in the seas and sailor’s psycho-physiology.

In the past five years, the institute has finalised the first phase of a project to upgrade its medical equipment and devices to better serve soldiers and local people.

One of the larger investments is a 7-floor building with an area of over 11,000 square meters with various modern and hi-tech equipment worth VND 40 billion used for treatments.

In addition to the acquisition and upgrading of new materials, the institute provides favourable conditions for its staff to augment their professional development. There are now sufficient facilities for doctors and medical specialists to do research and apply new findings in check-ups and treatments.

The institute also boosts cooperation with other domestic and international hospitals and medical schools in studies on treatment of new diseases and medical developments.

Its efforts in the past years to improve both quality and quantity of medical check-ups and treatment has, in part, contributed to the excellent fulfillment of the Navy’s tasks defined as protection of national economic projects at sea and defence of Vietnam’s entire sovereignty over its waters and islands.
