Accordingly, the service has made timely proposals to higher levels to deal with any arising issues; placed forces and vehicles on standby and ready to deploy; strictly patrolled and managed waters; effectively prevented cases of violating the national sovereignty over sea, islands; protected strategic targets and sea-based economic activities.
At the same time, the service has paid due attention to raising quality of training, education, and scientific research.
In his speech, General Nam praised the outstanding achievements of the Naval Service over the past five years.
He requested the service to further renovate emulation and commendation work, heighten troops’ political stance and competence to contribute to raising their combat readiness capability in protecting the national sovereignty over sea and islands, and building the whole people's defense posture coupled with the people’s security posture at sea and on islands.
Meanwhile, affiliated units under the service should focus on building and promoting role models and creating effective, innovative models during task performance, and creating the most favorable conditions for them to further improve their professionalism and morality.
