This year’s event attracted the participation of 11 teams from 11 military regions, arms and services under the Ministry of National Defense. Participating teams competed in three categories, including special obstacle courses, relay, and finish.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh highlighted units’ efforts in selecting and training competitors to participate in the event in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and shortage of facilities, equipment, and weaponry.

Through the event, the organizing panel expected to evaluate the quality of training and implementation of search and rescue missions as well as select the best athletes to form a contingent to participate in the International Army Games 2022. The event was also to prepare for the hosting of the “Emergency Area” competition in the International Army Games 2022 when the hosting plan is approved by the Prime Minister.
