Vietnamese participants got highest mark in 2nd stage of the “Emergency Area” event
With the performance of 30 minutes 12 seconds, the search and rescue contingent of Vietnam toppled the table, leaving behind the Pacific Fleet Team and the North Sea Fleet Team.
Despite unfavorable weather condition, the Vietnamese team completed the “Relay” stage four minutes 45 second earlier than the Pacific Fleet Team of the host country. This was a challenging contest as the participants equipped with different equipment had to cross obstacles to reach the victims.
More impressively, two Vietnamese participants annihilated all six targets in the shortest time in the shooting event. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, head of the contingent, this was the best performance ever and there have never had any participating teams that have achieved such a good result in this event.
As scheduled, the Vietnamese search and rescue team will compete with the General Department 12, the strongest team of the host country on August 16.
This year, nine teams from Angola, South Africa, Vietnam and the host Russia sent their personnel to compete in the “Emergency Area” event of the Army Games 2019.
