Climbing up high-rise buildings to rescue victims |
In the “Speeding up to reach the finishing line” contest, athletes must overcome the obstacles in the firing range. These other obstacles included crossing lakes by wires, cutting wooden partitions, passing debris from building collapse, 3-meter high walls, underground sewers, and climbing up high-rise buildings to rescue victims. After that, the athletes had to break down iron doors, extinguish fires, move heavy objects to vehicles, and finally speed up to reach the finishing line.
This was a contest requiring strength, stamina, and the ability to coordinate with all members of the team. With great efforts and high spirits, the Search and Rescue Team of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) brought home the award for the first time participating in this year’s event, thus contributing to the general success of the Vietnam People’s Army at the Army Games 2019.
