Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Director of the Military Science and Technology briefed delegates on the establishment and development history of the unit over the past 60 years.

He affirmed that the birth of the Technical Research Department (predecessor of the Military Science and Technology) was a significant event reflecting the strategic vision of the Party, General Military Commission, and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense on the important role of scientific and technological research in the building of the army to meet the urgent requirement of the anti-American war.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh handed over the “People’s Armed Forces” Title to the Military Science and Technology Institute

Over the past 60 years, the Military Science and Technology Institute has embraced and strictly implemented directives of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense. The institute has paid attention to training a contingent of officers and Party members with firm political stance, consistent with the Party’s ideology, determined to overcome all challenges, and creative at work.

Over the past years, in collaboration with local authorities and people, the Military Science and Technology Institute has actively conducted gratitude activities and applied its scientific initiatives to the “Army joins hands to build new-styled rural areas” movement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh praised and congratulated the institute on its development and achievements over the past 60 years. He affirmed that in any periods, the officers, specialists and workers of the Military Science and Technology Institute have demonstrated their absolute loyalty to the Party, Nation, and people and wholeheartedly contributed to the development of national scientific sector and the revolutionary cause of the Party.

He asked the unit to continuously embrace and creatively carry out resolutions and directives of the Party and State on defense, security, and scientific development, actively participate in the fourth industrial revolution and a movement on developing military science and technology in particular and Vietnam’s science and technology in general. The institute should focus on designing and manufacturing more hi-tech products to serve national defense and security consolidation and socio-economic development.

At the celebration, on behalf of the Party and State, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh handed over the “People’s Armed Forces” Title to the Military Science and Technology Institute in acknowledgement of its outstanding achievements from 2009 to 2019.
