Along the history of 71 years of establishment and development (1945-2016), the public security force has made great feats-of-arms, greatly contributing to the struggle for independence and national liberation and reunification as well as the construction and protection of the country. Acknowledging the great achievements of the force, the Party and State have awarded and posthumously bestowed the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to nearly 600 groups and individuals of the force. This is the tremendous encouragement for the force to continue to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the State President, General Tran Dai Quang presented the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to Major General Nguyen Duc Minh, former Director of the Institute of Strategy and Science under the Ministry of Public Security and Major General Phan Van Lai, former Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security.
Minister Quang then posthumously bestowed the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to four others, namely Major General Le Van Tau (Le Tau), former General Director of the General Department of Logistics (now the General Department of Logistics and Technology); Senior Colonel Hoang Huu Khang, former Director of the Guard Department (now the Guard Command); Martyr Tran Kim Chien, former Deputy Director of Lao Cai Police Department; and Ms. Le Thi Minh (Hai Minh), born 1929 in Xa Phien commune, Long My district, Hau Giang province, for their outstanding achievements in combat and at work.
