Military press and media asked to be active and clear-headed in orienting public opinion
PANO – Military press and media agencies should be active and clear-headed in guiding public opinion to the right and effectively master modern facilities and equipment to meet an increasing demand for information of troops and people.
The statement was made by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army at a meeting to review the military journalism and publishing work in the second quarter of this year on June 27 in Hanoi.
Having praised the achievements recorded by the military press and media and publishing sector over the last three months, General Nghia asked them to promote the dissemination of information on the 50-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's testament. He added that military press and media platforms should make readers and audiences better understand and support the fight against corruption, wastefulness and schemes of hostile forces.

In the second quarter of this year, press and media agencies fully covered political events, important news and internal and external activities of Party, State and defense leaders. They paid attention to innovating communication methods and contents while improving the quality of the column on fighting manifestations of “peaceful evolution,” “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”.
Meanwhile, press and media agencies of military regions, services and border guard as well as magazines and journals have closely followed the guidelines of higher levels and successfully fulfilled their political missions.
Over the past three months, the military publishing houses, according to reports, have seriously followed the laws and regulations on publishing work. In the second quarter, all military publishing houses have published 251 books.
