According to the report from the Military Command of Son La province, the quality of this year’s enlistment has improved compared to last year. The proportion of enlistees holding university or college degrees increased by 0.6%, high school diplomas by 1.3%. More than 40% of the enlistees volunteered to join the military.
The same day, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan attended the ceremony in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. According to local report, over 57% of the enlisted youths in the province volunteered to serve the military. 86% of enlistees are from ethnic minority groups.
In 2025, with high determination and the involvement of the entire political system, the quality of the enlistment drive in Lai Chau province is relatively high. The proportion of university and college degree holders has increased by 0.3% compared to the previous year, while Party members make up 0.12%. The enlisted youths are from different ethnic groups, including those from ethnic minority ones with the populations of under 10,000 people, such as the Cong, Mang, Si La, and Lu.
In Dien Bien province, all the youths enlisted this year met health, age, education, and political awareness requirements. The proportion of those with university, college, or vocational qualifications saw a 1.4% increase. The proportion of enlistees who are ethnic minorities is high.

On the day, the Northern province of Ha Giang completed the handover of youths to military units. Before that, the province had held refresher courses to raise youths’ awareness and knowledge of the Party. As a result, more than 200 youths were admitted to the Party before joining the military.
