According to Commanding Officer of Brigade 144 Senior Colonel Hoang Ngoc Chien, the unit has thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented higher levels’ directives and decisions on enlistment in 2023. So far, the unit has received sufficient number of recruits.

To ensure the quality of training of recruits, the brigade has built a training plan in accordance with the guidance of the Department of Military Personnel under the General Staff together with enhancing its instructors’ capabilities.

The unit’s detachments have proactively and actively upgraded training facilities and submitted training documents for approval as regulated. They have also attached special attention to political and ideological education.

Concluding the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan praised the unit for its outcomes since 2022, especially in enlistment, reception, and training of recruits in 2023.

The deputy chief of the General Staff asked the unit’s leadership to apply measures to addressing shortcomings. In particular, the brigade should pay attention to taking care of troops’ material and spiritual life and embracing their thoughts; review the quality of recruit training; add weapons and equipment to serve training activities; strictly maintain the observance of regulations; build a healthy cultural environment and disciplined lifestyle in the unit.

Together with raising troops’ military skills, the unit should focus on enhancing the quality of lineup regulation training.

Earlier on February 9, the mission visited and inspected the Military Ceremonial Troupe’s enlistment and reception of recruits and its preparation for the new training season in 2023. 

This year, the Military Ceremonial Troupe is tasked to enlist youths from 14 central provinces and cities. Over the past time, the unit has well coordinated with localities and agencies and units in selecting and receiving enlisted youths.

Together with streamlining training units for recruits, the Military Ceremonial Troupe has paid attention to enhancing its instructors’ capabilities, preparing documents and training facilities, repairing training grounds, and improving the environment.

Speaking at the inspection, General Tan praised the unit for its outstanding achievements in 2022 and the first months of 2023, especially in enlistment and reception of youths. He asked the unit's leadership to direct its agencies and units to build scientific training plans, take care of troops’ material and spiritual life, and add materiel to serve training, living, and implementation of regular and unexpected tasks.
