PANO - General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member, Deputy-Secretary of the Military Central Commission, and Defence Minister, yesterday paid a working visit to Sac Forest Base and key economic structures in Ho Chi Minh City.

General Phung Quang Thanh and his delegation members offered incense to heroic martyrs at the Sac Forest Cemetery.

While visiting the Sac Forest Museum in the Sac Forest Tourist Site, he was briefed on the history as well as famous feats of arms achieved by Vietnamese People and Army, especially those by commandos in the cause of the national salvation.

At the key economic structures in Ho Chi Minh City, General Phung Quang Thanh highly appreciated the quality and socio-economic significance of Vo Van Kiet Boulevard, Phu My Suspension Bridge and Thu Thiem Tunnel.

At the Thu Thiem Tunnel construction site, General Phung Quang Thanh and Le Hoang Quan, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman, wished Japanese experts, engineers and workers a happy Year of the Cat.

After his visit to several key structures, General Phung Quang Thanh and Le Thanh Hai, a Politburo member and Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Secretary, exchanged views and agreed on some cooperation activities in the near future.
