Delegates the General Staff offering incense in commemoration of fallen soldiers |
On July 21, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, leading a defense mission, visited and offered incense, flowers to fallen soldiers at the July 27 National Historical Relic Site and the National Historical Relic Site for Fallen Volunteer Troops of Company 915, Unit 91 Bac Thai.
The mission’s members paid tribute to fallen soldiers who had sacrificed their blood and flesh, youthfulness and lives for the nation’s independence and freedom and happiness of people.
On the afternoon of July 21, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper and Nguyen Huu Hai, Deputy CEO of the Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group presented VND 50 million to wounded soldier Truong Quang Giang in Ve An ward, Bac Ninh city, the Northern province of Bac Ninh. Giang said the present was an encouragement to his family.

Doctors of Military Hospital 175 providing health checkup to local people |
Meanwhile, from July 19 to 21, Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defense provided free health checkups, medicines for and presented gifts to more than 700 national contributors and poor people in Phuoc Khang commune, Thuan Bac district, the South-Central province of Ninh Thuan. The hospital also gifted Phuoc Khang communal medical station, Thuan Bac district Medical Center and Infirmary of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Military Command with medicines and medical equipment and gave financial assistance to the communal People’s Committee and the district’s Military Command.
Also on July 21, the Eastern Region Military-Civilian Hospital under the Department of Logistics of Military Region 7 teaming with local authorities and armed forces gave free health checkups, medicines and gifts to 220 national contributors and needy people in Tri Binh commune and Chau Thanh town of Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province. The program cost VND 110 million as donation of the hospital.
At Truc Lam Ta Lung Pagoda in Phuc Hoa district, Northern mountainous province of Cao Bang, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Cao Bang province hosted a requiem for soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for national peace, independence, freedom and unification as well as for dead victims of traffic accidents. They also prayed for peace and happiness for the nation.
On the occasion, the organizer granted 50 gifts to national contributors in the district.
