GDP’s leader presents gifts to wounded and sick soldiers
PANO – Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP), led a mission of the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP to visit and present gifts to wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at Phu Tho Convalescent Center for National Contributors on July 17 prior to the 72nd Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
During the visit, General Can emphasized that the Party, State, people and military will forever bear in mind the contributions of wounded and fallen soldiers, and national contributors to the national liberation, reunification and construction cause. Over the past time, the Party, State, people and armed forces have taken good care of wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs and national contributors.

The Ministry of National Defense and its agencies and units have cooperated with ministries and central agencies to make recommendations for the Party, State, Government and National Assembly to issue policies for national contributors, contributing to ensuring social welfare in general and raising living standards of the contributors in particular.
The ministry and the GDP instructed units and agencies in the whole military to work with the local leadership to effectively carry out gratitude-paying activities.
On the occasion, General Can wished wounded and sick soldiers at the center good health and hoped that they would contribute to educating and mobilizing their children and grand-children to strictly observe the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies.
This year, the provincial Convalescent Center for National Contributors is tasked with taking care of around 2,000 patients and it successfully fulfilled assigned missions in the first half.
