The ceremony drew the participation of Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Defense Ministers Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, and other former defense leaders.

Over the past 70 years of establishment and development, the division has promoted its tradition, overcome difficulties, gained a number of victories during the wars for national independence, and now is building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually modernized unit.

Addressing the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, General Giang hailed the unit’s remarkable achievements over the past time.

He also requested the division to embrace the Party’ viewpoints and military arts as well as President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts on building a revolutionary military.

In addition, Division 390 should also pay due attention to raising the quality of political education and comprehensively implementing emulation drives so as to fulfill all assigned missions.

On behalf of  the State President, General Giang handed over Division 390 a Third-class Fatherland Protection Order.
