During the inspecting visit to Tan Cang Cai Mep Joint-stock Company, Gen. Nam hailed the unit for its completion of the production and business plan 2023. Particularly, last year, despite many difficulties, the throughput still reached over 2.7 million TEUs, an increase of over 9% against 2022.

The deputy defense minister asked ports under the Newport Saigon Corporation to further promote their core services, ensuring the combination of economy and defense while continuing to improve competitiveness, expanding the scale of port operations in key areas, bringing into play advantages and potential in building sea-economic development strategies, developing an international deep-sea transshipment port system, and raising the corporation’s brand in the field of sea-based economy and logistics services.
In 2023, Ba Son Corporation achieved over VND 1.2 trillion in revenue, reaching 134 percent of the year plan. The average income reached nearly VND 16 million a person per month.

Also in the year, the corporation actively invested in equipment and factories, pro-actively sought domestic and foreign partners and customers in ship building and repair.
Applauding Ba Son Corporation for its task performance, Gen. Nam requested it to continue promoting localization, being pro-active in sourcing supplies and reducing costs. It was also asked to concentrate on market research, production of economic products, guarantee of quality, reputation and strong brand in the shipbuilding industry in Vietnam, and improvement of workers’ life.
The same day, Gen. Nam visited and extended New Year greetings to cadres, employees and workers of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).
