The ceremony saw the attendance of Major General Dao Ngoc Thach, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Mipecorp.

The depot, a petroleum retail business, was established on May 11, 1998, under the Military Petroleum Company. At that time, the depot was equipped with one oil tanker of less than 10 tons which operated in a very small area.

After 20 years, it has become a large petroleum transportation unit, responsible for allocating petroleum to defense agencies and military units as well as for doing business in transportation. It has 4 road transportation sections with 102 vehicles, a waterway section and a technical maintenance team.

It can transport 3,445 cubic meters of liquid and 1,400 tons at one time. The depot is operational across the country.  Its average annual turnover in recent years reached from VND 105 billion to 120 billion while the average monthly income per employee is VND 7.5 million to 9.2 million.

Senior Colonel Khuat Van Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Depot 65.3, said that in order to achieve the aforementioned results over the past years, the depot has actively made breakthroughs in all stages of its business, from seeking orders, drawing up transportation plans, mobilizing human and material resources for its missions.

According to Colonel Le Xuan Thang, Director of Depot 65.3, one of the effective measures that the branch has studied and implemented successfully is to apply new technical management methods with a view to promoting pro-activeness, responsibility and creativity of all staff, particularly those on duty.

Currently, it runs a comprehensive management system from task performance to supervision and inspection, which promotes democracy and gains high consensus among the staff. This also helps it cut down costs of repair and maintenance of vehicles, and minimizes breakdowns.

In particular, the management system contributes to reducing labor needed in transportation services, saving hundreds of millions of VND each year.

At the ceremony, under the authorization of the Prime Minister, General Thach presented the Certificate of Merit to the warehouse.

He suggested that the warehouse should make more breakthroughs in implementing restructuring policies, and well manage finance while abiding by the laws and promoting good relations with the customers, in order to develop a strong transportation branch on the market.
