Visiting General Pham Van Tra, former Minister of National Defense, and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, General Phan Van Giang briefed them on recent outstanding achievements of the military. He also hope that the former leaders will continue to contribute valuable opinions to the national defense reinforcement, fatherland protection, and military development.

In response, General Pham Van Tra and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy expressed their delight at the remarkable achievements of officers and soldiers throughout the military and expressed the confidence that the military will continue to fulfill all assigned tasks.

The same day, General Phan Van Giang and the delegation visited the families of late Party, State, and military leaders, including Senior Lieutenant General Le Kha Phieu, General Le Duc Anh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Chu Huy Man, General Van Tien Dung, General Doan Khue, General Phung Quang Thanh, General Hoang Van Thai, and General Le Trong Tan. During the visits, General Phan Van Giang expressed his deep gratitude for the significant contributions of the late military leaders to the revolutionary cause of the whole-Party and the entire nation, as well as to the military development  and the Fatherland protection.

* On April 26, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Defense Minister, paid visits to General Pham Van Tra and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, offering incense and flowers in commemoration of late military leaders, including General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Van Tien Dung, General Hoang Van Thai, General Le Trong Tan, General Doan Khue, General Phung Quang Thanh, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Khac Nghien, and others.

* The same day, a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army, visited and extended best wishes to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans' Association on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024).

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau congratulated the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans' Association and its subordinate associations on their achievements. He also informed them of some outstanding results in the implementation of tasks by the entire military since the beginning of the year. Additionally, he told about preparations for the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-people Defense Festive Day. On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau presented gifts to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans' Association and extended wishes for good health to Vietnamese veterans, urging them to continue to uphold the noble virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers, serving as bright examples for all officers, soldiers, and future generations.

Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, President of the Vietnam Veterans' Association, informed Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau about the activities of the Central Committee and its subordinate associations since the beginning of the year. He also expressed gratitude for the care and support of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People's Army towards the association, especially in mobilizing officers and soldiers nationwide to contribute, support, and assist policy families and revolutionary contributors, as well as coordinating with units under the association to organize meaningful activities.
