The meeting was held to announce the Prime Minister’s decision to appoint Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Political Commissar of Military Region 2, as the Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics.

On behalf of the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Defense Minister Giang congratulated General Quyet on his promotion, hoping that the newly appointed deputy director of the General Department of Politics will always heighten his sense of responsibility and maintain a firm political stance, contributing to fulfilling all assigned missions.

Speaking at the meeting, General Quyet thanked the Party, State, CMC, and MND for trusting his capabilities. He promised to put forth his utmost efforts to promote the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and resounding traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, contributing to building the people’s military to be increasingly “revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern” so as to meet the requirements of firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the current context.
