Reportedly, since August 2022, the two sides have concentrated on directing their affiliates to effectively carry out local military and defense tasks, build the whole-people’s defense posture in combination with the whole-people’s security disposition and a firm municipal defensive area.
In the reviewed period, the two sides have also given directions on yearly recruitments, meeting all set targets and ensuring high quality of the work. In addition, the municipal armed forces have been built into a comprehensively-strong, revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually-modernized regular force, and closely-organized militia, self-defense and reserve forces.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to boost their coordination with a focus on improving the capability and efficiency of State management in defense, maintaining political stability, and building a firm people’s heart disposition.
They will also review, supplement, and complete plans on developing socio-economy coupled with defense consolidation, building the strong whole-people’s defense posture, developing the municipal armed forces with integrated quality, high competence, high combat readiness ability, meeting the Fatherland protection requirements in the new situation.
More attention will be paid to investments for the Hanoi Capital Command and other military units stationed in the city to implement military and defense projects and to create favorable conditions for servicemen and defense workers and their children to study and buy houses and for discharged troops to get jobs.
In his speech, Secretary Dinh Tien Dung underlined that the standing board of the Hanoi Party Committee always defines Party and political system building and rectification a key mission; economic development a major task; and military and defense guarantee a regular and key task. Thus he hoped for the close coordination from the CMC to realize resolutions on developing the capital city by 2030 with a vision to 2045 and to carry out celebrations in 2024 and 2025.
Addressing the event, Gen. Phan Van Giang congratulated the capital city’s Party Committee, authorities, armed forces and people on their attainments over the past time. He said that the standing board of the CMC will further coordinate with its counterpart from Hanoi to direct the implementation of socio-economic development coupled with defense and security consolidation and the external affairs.
