Over the past 77 years, the school has conducted 89 training courses, trained and graduated more than 110,000 officers for the Vietnam People’s Army, as well as thousands of foreign military officers for Asian, African, and Latin American countries. Among them, over 400 have become generals and senior officials of the Party, State and military.
For its outstanding achievements, the Army Officer Candidate School No.1 was conferred with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces,” three Ho Chi Minh orders, and other noble awards.
Notably, during his visit to the school on May 26, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh presented the flag with golden words “Loyal to the Nation, Filial to the People” to the school.
Fostering the precious historical value of the event of Uncle Ho granting the flag to the school, the place where the event took place was recognized as a province-level relic in 2007 by the then Ha Tay provincial People’s Committee.
On January 29, 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism decided to recognize the place as a national relic site.

The Army Officer Candidate School No.1 receives the certificate recognizing the place where President Ho Chi Minh granted the flag with golden words to the school as a national relic site. |
The recognition created a motivation for the school’s officers, instructors, soldiers, and cadets to uphold its tradition and try their best to fulfill all assigned missions, contributing to building the revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually-modernized Vietnam People’s Army.
