Under the direction of Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department under the General Staff and Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response, and Search and Rescue, the mission searched six places in collapsing high-rise buildings,

The Vietnamese engineers used hydraulic pliers to pay the way for the service dogs to go deep into the debris to find any victims and then used detectors to make accurate assessment of the situation.

Their efforts were paid off. The missions located two places having signs of life and two positions with dead victims at three collapsing buildings at Akevle - Fahri Koruturk street-corner. In the rubble at Bahceli No.4 street-corner, the mission found a body.

At each place, Major General Pham Van Ty exchanged with and handed over the marked sites, especially the two with signs of life, to the local forces to continue the rescue work while updating news from the local authorities.

As of February 16, the Vietnamese military SAR mission helped the host country locate 11 positions of victims of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake, including two positions with signs of life.

All members of the mission are confident and exert all-out efforts to complete the search and rescue duties in Turkey.
