Vietnamese rescue mission fosters cooperation with foreign counterparts in Turkey
PANO - The search and rescue mission of the Vietnam People’s Army visited the forces of China, Bahrain, and Senegal participating in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in Turkey on February 15.
The mission was led by Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department under the General Staff, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response, and Search and Rescue, and Head of the Vietnam People’s Army delegation to assist Turkey’s rescue efforts.

During the meeting, Major General Pham Van Ty emphasized the growing relationship between Vietnam and other countries, especially the common view of sending forces to support Turkey in overcoming the consequences of the recent earthquake.

“We came here for the purpose of helping the Turkish people to soon stabilize their lives. This is a noble international spirit and a good deed of helping each other in need,” emphasized Major General Pham Van Ty.

During the event, Vietnam and other countries introduced one another about their delegation’s organization, equipment, and experience in search and rescue and disaster response, especially in conducting the mission in Turkey. They agreed to work closely together in the future to enhance the effectiveness of the search and rescue work.
