Particularly, Vietnamese snipers proved their stance and skills at the “Sniper Frontier” event in Brest city, Belarus after completing the “Sniper biathlon” exercise of the third stage of “Sniper Relay” in second place. The website of the Russian Ministry of Defense Mil.ru highlighted the performance of Vietnamese snipers in the “Hunting” exercise, which was held at night. The Vietnamese team was the only team that destroyed all of the targets, scoring the most points in the exercise.

Promoting the glorious tradition of the engineering force of the Vietnam People’s Army, the Engineering Team secured a bronze medal after completing the “Safe Route” competition in Russia’s Kstovo city in 46 minutes. According to Mil.ru, the Vietnamese engineers finished strong, just behind Russia and Uzbekistan.

Vietnam's service dog handler team to Army Games 2020

In an interview given to Tvzvezda Television, Lieutenant General Mikhail Matveyevsky, Chief of the Missile and Artillery Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, highlighted the Vietnam People’s Army’s sending of its artillery force to compete in Army Games for the first time. The Vietnamese marksmen, together with their peers from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, competed in the “Masters of Artillery Fire” event. 

Also, the service dog handler team of Vietnam also received complements from Russian military media in their first participation in the “True Friend” event at the 470th training ground in Dmitrov city. Colonel Le Manh Huong, Head of the Vietnamese Service Dog Handler Team told to Mil.ru website that the competition was an excellent opportunity for the Vietnam People’s Army and other participating militaries to exchange experiences.

Meanwhile, reporters of the Red Star Newspaper of the Russian Armed Forces were impressed by the Vietnamese cuisine after watching the performance of the Field Kitchen Team of the Vietnam People’s Army at the Army Games 2020. “Made in Vietnam” dishes, such as spring rolls, "Banh Chung" (square glutinous rice cake), “Banh troi” (Floating rice cake), and candies attracted international friends.

Meanwhile, Russian Chief Judge Lev Leshchenko highly evaluated the performance of the Art Troupe of the Vietnam People’s Army at the Army Games 2020, while the Red Star Newspaper gave compliments to singer Trinh Phuong who once studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. His performance has become the highlight of the singing competition. 

Competing in events of the Army Games 2020, the Vietnamese teams have been confident and determined, showed a high-level of coordination, and actively contributed to popularizing Vietnam, its people, and the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers to international friends.
