In recent years, the Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard forces have pro-actively promoted cooperation and friendship activities. They have actualized the policies and viewpoints of both parties, states, as well as the Central Military Commissions and Ministries of National Defense of both countries regarding defense diplomacy.

Particularly, collaboration on Party and political work has been one of the key pillars of the cooperation between the two coast guard forces, contributing to enhancing the forces' mutual trust, understanding, and friendship. This is an important factor in ensuring their effective cooperation in maritime law enforcement. Additionally, boosting such exchange activities has become a demand for both countries' armed forces in building strong militaries in terms of politics, ideology, and organization.
