He also highlighted the dedication and sacrifices of military, police, and civilian personnel, as well as partners and local people, who contribute to the mission in a challenging environment. He called on all forces to continue strengthening unity, supporting one another, and upholding U.N. values so that their presence in South Sudan can bring greater hope, protection, and opportunities to local communities.
For the officers and personnel of the L2FH Rotation 8, the ceremony was an opportunity to reflect on the significance and honor of their peacekeeping mission. Wearing the Vietnamese U.N. peacekeeping uniform and blue berets, each Vietnamese peacekeeper carries the pride and responsibility of representing Viet Nam and the Viet Nam People’s Army while striving to successfully fulfill assigned tasks.
The presence of flags from troop-contributing countries also highlighted the importance of cooperation and solidarity among nations under the U.N. flag.
