Speaking at the event, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Major General Vu Trung Kien praised and congratulated Capt. Hiep on being the third coast guard officer to join U.N. peacekeeping force, saying that it is an honor, and also noble responsibility and mission of an officer of the Vietnam People's Army to perform duties for the international community.

Gen. Kien requested Capt. Hiep to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party, State, and military’s foreign policies and guidelines, strictly observe discipline and comply with the U.N.’s regulations and the laws of the host country, overcome all difficulties and challenges and successfully complete all assigned responsibilities and tasks, uphold the traditions of the Vietnam People's Army and the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and coast guard soldiers, contributing to popularizing the good image of the country, people, and military to international friends.

Capt. Hiep has excellently completed different training courses on U.N. peacekeeping missions in Vietnam and foreign countries. Once deployed to the U.N. Mission in South Sudan, Capt. Hiep will take on the duty as a staff officer.

At the meeting, the officer promised that he would promote activeness, pro-activeness, and determination to excellently complete assigned missions; promote unity spirit; pro-actively follow situational developments and actively participate in humanitarian activities, contributing to popularizing the image of a peace-loving Vietnam and people to international friends.
