Military Region 2 selects 21 officers to participate in U.N. peacekeeping mission
PANO – Military Region 2 held a conference on December 24 to assign missions to officers to participate in Engineering Company Rotation 2.
The event was chaired by Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2 Major General Nguyen Dang Khai.

In realizing the Ministry of National Defense’s Decision on the establishment of the Engineering Company Rotation 2 under the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VNDPKO) and the General Staff’s Decision on the mobilization of non-commissioned officers to join the company in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), Military Region 2 has selected 21 officers and non-commissioned officers from its units to undertake the mission. All of the selected meet the requirements of health, professional competence, and morality.
Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Dang Khai emphasized the significance, role, and responsibility of joining U.N. peacekeeping operations.
The military region’s deputy commander asked 21 officers and non-commissioned officers to always study and strictly observe foreign policies of the Party, State, military, the Charter of the United Nations, and host country’s law, thus spreading the image of the peace-loving country of Vietnam to international friends.
He urged the officers to promote the spirit of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in carrying out missions, strengthen unity among them and international solidarity, and regularly study to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period.
