At the meeting, General Luong emphasized the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, affirming that Vietnam always treasures and prioritizes the continued consolidation and development of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia. He underscored the importance of educating and informing both troops and citizens, particularly the younger generation, about the history, significance, and value of the solidarity and mutual support between the two nations and their armed forces throughout various historical periods.

The host noted that in recent times, bilateral defense cooperation has developed in a substantive and effective manner, serving as one of the key pillars of the overall bilateral relationship. Notable areas include the effective maintenance of delegation exchanges at all levels, dialogue and consultation mechanisms, information sharing, training, border management and protection, exchange programs, public awareness campaigns about bilateral ties, the search and repatriation of martyrs’ remains, and mutual support in multilateral forums.

For his part, General Ya Kim Y expressed gratitude for Vietnam’s material and spiritual support. He emphasized that Cambodia always remembers Vietnam’s significant assistance in helping the Cambodian people escape the genocidal regime. On this occasion, he also briefed the host on the outcomes of his working session with the Inspectorate of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

Appreciating the results of the meeting, General Luong proposed that, in the time ahead, both sides should enhance meetings, contact, exchanges, the sharing of professional experience, and mutual support to improve advisory capacities. He affirmed that the leadership of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always supports and facilitates cooperation between the two inspection agencies, contributing to further deepening bilateral defense cooperation.
