Third Vietnam - Cambodia young air force officer exchange held

PANO - A delegation of young officers from the Royal Cambodian Air Force, led by Major Samnang Saomonich, Assistant to the Finance Department of the Royal Cambodian Air Force Command, participated in the 3rd Vietnam - Cambodia young air force officer exchange program on May 19 at the Air Defense - Air Force Academy.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Hung, Political Chief of the academy, hosted the reception for the Cambodian delegation.

During the reception, Sr. Col. Nguyen Quang Hung expressed his delight at the Cambodian side's participation in the exchange, underlining that it was a great honor for the academy to be selected as one of the venues for the Vietnam - Cambodia Young Air Force Officers Exchange Program.

For his part, Major Samnang Saomonich thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm welcome, affirming that the visit aimed to educate Cambodian young officers about the traditional and close-knit relations between Vietnam and Cambodia. He added that it also served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen solidarity between the two militaries, especially among generations of young officers.

He expressed hope that in the time to come, both sides would further enhance exchange activities for young officers and boost coordination in military education and training in a more practical and effective manner. These efforts would contribute to building strong militaries, maintaining peace and stability within each country and the region, and further developing the two air forces in particular, as well as Vietnam-Cambodia relations in general.

An overview of the exchange

Within the framework of the event, the two sides shared valuable lessons, creative ideas, and perspectives on the role of young officers in building the Air Defense - Air Force, and emphasized the significance of enhancing solidarity between young air force officers of the two countries, thereby contributing to the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
