MILAN 2026 concludes successfully
PANO - Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, Commander of Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet, chaired the closing ceremony of the Multilateral Naval Exercise 2026 (MILAN 2026) on February 25 on the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant of the host country India.
Senior Captain Le Dinh Nghi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2 and head of the Vietnam People's Navy (VPN) delegation, attended the ceremony.

Themed “Friendship, cooperation, and coordination,” MILAN 2026 saw the participation of 74 countries, with 16 countries sending ships to the exercise. The VPN sent Ship 17 from Brigade 171, Naval Region 2 to take part in non-combat activities within the framework of the exercise.
During the exercise, participating navies coordinated closely, followed the planned program, successfully completed all training contents, ensuring absolute safety.

Speaking at the event, Rear Admiral Alok Ananda expressed his gratitude to the participating countries for deploying ships and forces to the exercise, and hoping that their navies would continue to support and join future MILAN exercises.
He also underlined that this was the largest exercise ever held, while affirming that it provided an opportunity for navies to share and learn from one another’s experiences, strengthen friendship and mutual understanding, contributing to enhancing cooperation in addressing issues related to global maritime security.
