First Vietnam-China Joint Army Training Program launched in China
PANO – On July 22, at the Jianglong Chongzuo Training Base, Guangxi (China), the ground forces of Vietnam and China officially launched the first-ever Vietnam-China Joint Army Training Program.
Attending the opening ceremony were Major General Chen Liang, Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command’s Ground Force of the People’s Liberation Army of China, and Senior Colonel Do Van Toan, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 1 of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel Do Van Toan emphasized that this was the first time the two countries’ ground forces had organized a joint training program. The activity carries significant meaning as it contributes to concretizing a joint statement on continuing to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promoting the building of a Vietnam - China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance. It also enhances coordination capacity between the two countries’ armies in joint activities for peace and stability along the shared border.

For his part, Major General Chen Liang stressed that this joint training activity would further deepen the “16-word” motto, the “four-good” spirit, and the “6-better” direction of bilateral relations, especially within the framework of the Vietnam-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2025.

After the opening ceremony, delegates visited a display of weapons, military equipment, and items for training. The two sides also held a coordination meeting to finalize plans and detailed content for the joint training program.

According to the plan, the program will take place from July 22 to 30, with realistic training contents aligned with the direction of defense cooperation between the two nations. These include personnel and equipment camouflage techniques, marksmanship, UAV operations, among others.
