On behalf of the leadership of the MND, General Chien congratulated comrade Duan Ping on the commencement of her tenure in Vietnam, expressing confidence that she would make positive contributions to relations between the Vietnamese MND and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, as well as between the Vietnam Border Guard and China’s National Immigration Administration.

The Vietnamese defense leader affirmed that China is a close neighboring country and a traditional friend, and that Vietnam consistently attaches great importance to consolidating and developing relations with China.
He noted that the Central Military Commission and the MND of Vietnam highly appreciate and positively assess the results of cooperation between the Vietnamese MND and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, as well as between the Vietnam Border Guard and China’s National Immigration Administration, in such areas as delegation exchanges; border and border gate management and protection; law enforcement; combating and preventing cross-border crimes; exchanges in Party and political work, and young officer exchanges.

General Chien proposed that in the coming time, the Chinese Police Counselor continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese functional agencies, effectively promote her role as a bridge in boosting activities fostering bilateral relations.
At the meeting, comrade Duan Ping affirmed that China and Vietnam are neighboring countries sharing many similarities in customs, culture, and society, and that the peoples of the two countries have a long-standing tradition of friendship exchanges. She emphasized that the Chinese Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnamese MND, particularly the border protection forces of the two countries, have a close cooperative relationship.

Comrade Duan Ping proposed that both sides further promote exchange activities to deepen solidarity and cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries. She also stressed the need to advance administrative procedure reform, digital transformation, and the implementation of smart border gate models, moving toward the digitization of procedures and improving customs clearance efficiency.
