Hue city's border guards support flood recovery in Laos’ Kaleum district

The handover took place at La Lay International Border Gate in Quang Tri province under the authorization of the Hue Municipal People's Committee.

At the ceremony, Senior Colonel Ngo Doan Long, Second-in-Command of the Hue Municipal Border Guard Command, conveyed his regards and encouragement to local authorities and residents, urging them to overcome difficulties and gradually restore their livelihoods.

Relief supplies are handed over to the authorities and residents of Kaleum district.

On this occasion, the delegation donated five tons of rice, along with essential supplies and goods, worth a total of VND 300 million, funded by the Hue Municipal People's Committee.

Kaleum is one of the more disadvantaged districts in Sekong province, where most residents rely on upland farming. Floods and landslides in August 2026 disrupted local residents' daily lives and agricultural production.

On behalf of the district's authorities and residents, representative of the Sekong Provincial Military Command, thanked the Hue Municipal People's Committee and the city's border guards for their support. He noted that Sekong province, particularly border villages in Kaleum district, have received substantial assistance from Hue city and its border guard force in recent years.

Supplies, goods, and essential necessities are donated to the authorities and residents of Kaleum district.

The initiative reflected the spirit of mutual support and solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos, while strengthening cooperation and close ties between Hue city and Sekong province.
